Duplicate File Detection
Imagine that every file you create or add to a project is immediately indexed by Chronos. This isn’t just about reading the filename; it’s a deep, analytical process. Chronos meticulously catalogs your files in the Vault of Recall, a comprehensive and searchable database. The secret to its efficiency is a powerful cryptographic signature—a unique SHA-256 hash that’s generated for every single file. This hash is a digital fingerprint, a string of letters and numbers that’s completely unique to that file’s content.
This system’s real power comes from how it uses those hashes. When you add a new file, Chronos generates its SHA-256 hash and instantly cross-references it with every file already in the Vault. If a match is found, Chronos immediately flags it as a duplicate. This happens in the background, without you having to manually search or sort through countless folders. The interface is designed for simplicity, so with just a couple of mouse clicks, you can view all the duplicates, see their locations, and decide which ones to keep and which to delete. This not only frees up valuable storage space but also ensures your projects are clean, organized, and free from redundant data.
